Enrichment is all about giving our children exciting opportunities to explore, create and discover beyond the everyday curriculum. Whether during school hours or after school, enrichment helps pupils try new activities, develop their talents and learn in different ways—through art, sport, music, performance, nature, teamwork and more. It opens doors to new interests, builds confidence by encouraging children to “have a go,” and helps them find out what they love and what they’re great at. Enrichment helps every child grow into a curious, capable and confident learner who is ready for the world.
At St. Stephen's, we offer a range of enrichment opportunities outside of the usual school curriculum. These are run by school staff or specialist external providers. Most clubs are run over a half term basis and are targeted at specific year groups. These opportunities are an important and exciting feature of school life and contribute to our children's academic, personal and social development. These take place after school on different nights of the week and we support families by offering half price After School Club places for siblings.
Pupils who take part in clubs, outside of school, are recognised and their achievements are shared and celebrated in Friday's worship. Parents and families are invited to join in this celebration.
We also have KS2 Enrichment which takes place EVERY Friday 2.15-2.45pm. Children choose each half term the enrichment they would like. It offers so many benefits to our children and is a real highlight of St Stephen's. Enrichment choices each half term may include:
