At St Stephen's, we believe that the people who touch our lives leave footprints on our hearts. In June 2026, our school family came together for a very special Super Mrs Smith Week as we honoured the life, love and legacy of our much-loved friend and colleague, Mrs Smith who served as a teacher for 25 years.
Rather than focusing on what we have lost, we chose to celebrate all that Mrs Smith gave to our school and the remarkable difference she made to so many children, families, colleagues and friends. Her kindness, warmth, sense of fun and unwavering belief in others helped shape the St Stephen's that we know and love today.
Throughout the week, children, staff, families and members of the wider community took part in a range of activities inspired by the things Mrs Smith loved most: bringing people together, creating joyful memories, making people smile and ensuring everyone felt valued. From special visits and enrichment activities to dancing, laughter and time spent together, every moment reflected the joy and positivity that Mrs Smith brought to those around her.
The week culminated in our wonderful Super Smith Saturday Colour Run, where hundreds of people gathered to celebrate, remember and share in the togetherness that meant so much to Mrs Smith. It was a day filled with laughter, friendship, colour and joy, and a fitting tribute to a person who gave so much of herself to others.
While time moves on, Mrs Smith's influence remains woven into the fabric of our school. Her legacy lives on in the kindness we show, the relationships we build, the encouragement we give and the sense of family that makes St Stephen's such a special place.
Super Mrs Smith Week was more than a week of activities. It was a celebration of a life lived with purpose, compassion and joy. It was an opportunity to say thank you, to reflect on the difference one person can make and to ensure that Mrs Smith's spirit continues to inspire future generations of St Stephen's children.
Mrs Smith will always be part of our story, and her legacy will continue to shine brightly in our school community for many years to come.
