Key Information

Our PE days for Summer 1 half term are: Wednesday and Friday.

Please ensure that your child comes to school in their PE kit.

Things you need:

  • Reading diary
  • Reading book
  • A warm waterproof coat
  • Water bottle

Home Learning

Please read at least 3 times a week and record this in your red reading diary.

This year your child will have their reading books changed on a Tuesday.  Your child will get a book to bring home,  which will match their reading ability. Your child may also bring home a reading for pleasure book, from one of our school libraries. Please encourage your child to read every night. We ask parents to sign reading records to share the child’s reading with us, plus any celebrations or concerns you may also want to share.

If your child finishes their books before the change day, we would like you to encourage them to read it again. This will help them to develop fluency and prosody. However, should it need changing please encourage your child to let their teachers know, in class.

English (spellings)

New spellings are taught on Friday and displayed in the classroom throughout the week. A copy of the word list is given out each Friday for children to practise at home. Children are are then tested the following Friday.

Ed Shed and TTRS

Children are encouraged to log on at home and complete the weekly challenges. They may even get on the leader board!

Home Learning Tasks (Weekly)

Children will complete weekly learning tasks and these will be given out on Friday and be handed in on a Thursday. Homework club will be offered every Tuesday during Lunch time in the LKS2 Library and will be offered on a Thursday for those children who haven’t completed their home learning.

Here's another great way for your child to enjoy maths at home. Have a look at our parent tool to support enjoying maths together. Our blocks of learning for this term are Multiplication and Division, Length and Perimeter, Fractions and Mass and capacity.
