Pupil Premium Stratgey

Overview:

Pupil premium is additional funding for publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils of all abilities and to close the gaps between them and their peers.

In the 2022 to 2023 financial year, schools will receive the following funding for eligible pupils:

  • £1,385 for pupils in reception year to year 6 registered as eligible for free school meals (FSM) at any point in the last 6 years

£2,410 for each pupil having left local-authority care because of one of the following:

  • Adoption
  • Special guardianship order
  • Child arrangements order
  • A residence order
  • Been in local authority care for 1 day or more
  • Recorded as both eligible for FSM in the last six years and as being looked after.

If a pupil has been registered as eligible for free school meals and has also left local-authority care for any of the reasons above, they will attract the £2,345 rate. For pupils who attract the £2,345 rate, the virtual school head of the local authority that looks after the pupil will manage the funding.
