RE

Our school is excited to implement the newly updated Religious Education (RE) curriculum, following the Manchester Diocese RE Syllabus 2023. This syllabus has been aligns with current best practices and pedagogical strategies, ensuring a comprehensive approach to learning about religion. While there is a strong Christian emphasis throughout the curriculum, with an explicit focus on Christian concepts and God’s big salvation story, the syllabus also thoughtfully incorporates the study of other world religions. By embracing a balance of faiths, the curriculum provides pupils with a deeper understanding of both Christianity and other spiritual traditions, fostering respect and understanding across different beliefs.

We extend the content of the Diocesan syllabus by inviting pupils from different faith backgrounds to share their experiences and insights with their peers, creating an environment of mutual respect and dialogue. Through this diverse and balanced approach, our curriculum ensures that all students develop an appreciation for both the commonalities and differences that shape religious and non-religious worldviews.
