Polite Parking Request:

We acknowledge that our school has been built in an awkward location for vehicle access. Consequently, we have arranged permission from Bolton Road Methodist Church for access to their car park for our parents at the beginning and end of the school day. We urge parents to use this facility rather than parking on the Back Bolton Road, Colville Drive and Kenmoor Avenue as doing so causes problems for residents.

We expect parents to respect the reputation of our school by agreeing to:

• Drive safely, within the school area, adhering to the speed limits and driving in accordance with the Highway Code;
• Not stop or park on the yellow “School - Keep – Clear” and “zig-zag” markings during the times indicated on the yellow “No Stopping” signs outside the school (Usually Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm);
• Not to park on any double yellow lines;
Avoid parking in a way that would block or cause an obstruction to the school entrance/exit, residents’ driveways and/or junctions;
• Not mount the pavement when stopping or parking, allowing pedestrians to be able to walk on pavements and space for prams to pass;
Not to use the staff car park as a pick up or drop off point for your children;
• Park so that your child is able to leave the vehicle on the pavement side away from any conflict with traffic;
• Pay particular attention for other children at the side and rear of the vehicle when parking, dropping off or setting off;
Avoid double parking, so as not to adversely affect the flow of traffic or access for emergency vehicles;
• Not park in any bus stops or any designated disabled/private parking bays;
• Respect local residents and businesses by not parking in a way that blocks access or egress to their homes or premises;
• To forward any concerns regarding dangerous parking and road safety in the school environment to the Interim Headteacher or a Governor, who can then take appropriate action.
